62. Inflation Sucks: Causes, Impacts, and Cures
In this newsletter, I highlight my upcoming speech at the Salem Center at UT-Austin on 2/21, top 10 issues at the state and federal levels, and latest on COVID-19 in Texas.
Hello Friend,
Thank you for reading the latest Let People Prosper newsletter. I have much to share this week so let’s get to it.
Personal take: Another productive week flew by. I enjoyed speaking about the need to return to normal and policy sanity in Texas and beyond at TPPF’s Liberty Leadership Council group in San Antonio. The political and economic situation is heating up in a number of areas so I have several key posts below. You’ll notice that I started posting clips of my tweets instead of the actual tweet because I started deleting my tweets that are older than one month as there’s no need to keep that information on Twitter. Be sure to follow me on Twitter for tweets in real-time or on GETTR. I’ve also included the original source as a link above each of the clips when available. Things are going well with the family. We’ve got a lot of good things going on at work to prepare for what’s going on in Congress and in the next legislative session in Texas that starts in January 2023. Please continue to keep me in your prayers. And Bricen and I recently voted early for what we hope will be even more paths to let people prosper in Texas.
Hot take: I’m giving a speech at the Unversity of Texas’ Salem Center for Policy on Monday, 2/21 at 4 pm CT. Join me or watch online. Find out more info here.

COVID-19 SITUATION
Latest info: TX DSHS Covid-related data here. The first 2 major waves had restrictions in place. Gov. Greg Abbott lifted state restrictions on Mar. 10, 2021, and blocked local restrictions on May 21, 2021. No need for government-mandated masks, vaccines, or shutdowns. Closing Thoughts
RIP P.J. O’Rourke.
My prayers this week are focused on this Bible verse.
Thank you for reading and sharing this newsletter. I pray that we continue to search first for God’s endless love. Many blessings to you and yours!
Overview of the Let People Prosper newsletter: We believe that an inclusive institutional framework with individual liberty, strong families, robust civil society, competitive capitalism, and a constitutional republic best supports abundant opportunities to relieve poverty and let people prosper. This prosperity isn’t just material but spiritual, psychological, etc. that satisfies human desires. Given this understanding and my experience and research as a free-market economist, I provide trusted views on economies and policies across America, especially Texas where I reside, and the COVID-19 situation.
