The economy's immediate problems are the tariffs and the deportations. The trump defcits will come soon enough. Given all that the Fed has not done badly. It probably should have cut rates to juice a bit more inflation from last March (when only the height of the tariffs and numbers of deportations were in doubt). But the President pressing for cuts makes it hard for the Fed to go that way, even if we need more inflation, w/o looking as if it is bowing to pressure with damage to its reputation for independence. 2.75 cheers for the Fed
